The Good News
We get right with God by His grace.
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. — Ephesians 2:8–9
God loves you and wants to be with you always — on earth, and then in heaven.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. — John 3:16
But we have a problem. We rebel against God — we do things we know we shouldn’t, and fail to do the things we know we should. That rebellion separates us from God in this life and the next. (Romans 3:10–12, 23; 6:23)
However, God loves us, and He has a plan to fix things:
- Admit and turn away from our rebellion. (Acts 3:19; 1 John 1:8–9)
- Ask Jesus to be the Lord — the Boss — of our lives. (John 1:11–13; Romans 10:9–10, 13)
That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. For whoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved. — Romans 10:9–10, 13
It can be as simple as this. Just pray:
A Prayer
God, I disobey You. I don’t want to do that stuff anymore. Jesus, come into my life, be my boss, and save me.
Abraham believed God . . . and he was called God’s friend. — James 2:23
Did you pray that prayer?
